The Last Thing You'll See (Hopefully)
The perspective is a bit off, but I did this all from my head.
As I was deciding if I was awake or not this morning, I started thinking about what to do for my art piece today, and this was what popped into my head. I've been really loving HBO's True Blood (and I predict that Sooki will eventually become a vampire, too, I almost named this one 'Sooki' for that very reason).

Three Trees
Learning Art Rage, one thing I'm practicing is use of layers. I actually used 8 separate layers for this piece. I started with purple pencil, and finished with it on the top, for an imaginary feeling.
This is sans the purple, for a psuedo-realistic look, color-wise at least. But a little dull IMO.
In playing around with all the layers, I discovered how cool these two looked together. This is my favorite.

Kaleidopillar
I love Art Rage, but there are other programs to try out as well. I've decided to give Avairy a try, and went through a tutorial this morning for their Peacock program. This is one of the creations I came up with.
If anyone would like an invitation to Avairy, I have a couple more to give, so just leave me a message.

Shapes
I'm starting Art Every Day Month, and still practicing how to make the tablet feel like drawing, I am referring to some drawing books. This is a beginning assignment, the instructions quoted directly:
"Children’s drawings tend not to be accurate, but they have qualities of directness and free expression that adults would do well to capture. Indeed, Picasso stated that he had spent most of his career striving to draw like a child. With this in mind, I want to take you back briefly to kindergarten.
With a soft pencil, fill a sheet of scrap paper with 30 or 40 simple pictures, shapes and motifs. Draw them straight out of your head, using simple lines and making each one as direct and confident as you can. "
